2019 Annual Campaign is Underway!

On March 6, we kicked-off our 2019 Annual Campaign during a lunch at the Y! Help us reach our $100,000 goal by going online to vincennesymca.org/give. Our Y’s programs and services are “FOR ALL”. We do not turn anyone away because of their inability to pay. Thank you to our generous donors each and every year!

We are currently at 11% of our goal!

For Social Responsibility: For Your Health

Good Samaritan Community Health will be in the lobby on Monday, March 18 from 9:30am-11am for their monthly screen. This month they will have Colorectal Cancer screening kits.

12-Week TRY Training Class

This week we kick-off our training class to get you prepared for the Knox County TRY begins the week of March 18! In the 12-week training class, you will train for each event: swimming, biking and running. And receive training tips for non-class days, encouragement from Y staff members and the training group. The class is open to men and women, members and non-members and of ALL fitness levels. For questions regarding the 12-week training class, contact Tiffany Petts, Aquatics Director at (812)895-YMCA or tpetts@vincennesymca.org. It is your year to TRY!!

Indoor Triathlon

The Indoor Triathlon is back! Saturday, April 13 we will host an Indoor Triathlon to help train for the Knox County TRY in June. The race begins at 8 am and will consist of 15-minute segments for swimming, biking and running with a set transition time. Cost will be $25 for members, $40 for non-members. Rock Steady is Here!

For those suffering from the effects of Parkinson’s Disease, Rock Steady, a non-contact boxing inspired class can help reverse, reduce and sometimes delay to symptoms of the disease. Class is held Monday through Friday at 8:30 am. Program fee $15. For members only. Contact Amanda Smith, Wellness Coordinator at (812)895-9622 or wellness@vincennesymca.org to learn more.

2019 YMCA/Memering Motorplex Golf Outing

Mark your calendars to join us and Memering Motorplex for our 27th annual golf outing on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. The event will be held at the Country Club of Old Vincennes. We hope to reach a goal of $20,000 to help send every child to camp this summer. Teams, individuals and sponsorship opportunities are available. Bring the Kids to the Y!

Bring the kids for some play time at our YMCA during these cold winter days!

  • Preschool Open Gymnastics is Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-11am and Open Gymnastics (kids under 10) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6pm-7pm. And, if you are a Y member, this is FREE! Non-members purchase a family day pass for $10.
  • Two basketball courts are available to run jump and play or to play basketball.
  • Family and Open Swim times are available for both pools during scheduled times of the day.

For Social Responsibility: $1 Lunch

Join us at our YMCA Bettye J. McCormick Senior Center for lunch Monday through Friday. The lunch costs $1 and is available for those 60 and older. Spend time with friends, make new friends and enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch. And, after lunch stay a while for activities happening throughout the day. Reservations are appreciated and can be made by contacting the center at (812) 882-2285.
